Zacchaeus is a personal examination of image, race and identity, against the backdrop of a black man being elected President of the United States. The film-maker explores the meteoric rise of Barack Obama in a personal journey that takes the viewer from to to Chicago on the night of Obama’s win of the presidency, a pivotal moment in world history. Along the way the film examines images, culture, history, stereotyping, identification and race to weave a poetic acceptance and celebration of the triumph of a black man to the highest office in the land.
